Monday Morning Edition

Good morning all!

My View

How fortunate was the paddler from Plettenberg Bay!  Police have found a few personal items [including a cellphone] belonging to the young Norwegian lady, Marie Ostbo, which seem to rule out crime.  Let’s remain hopeful.  Ethel Ruthenberg opened with an 84 at the SA Amateur Strokeplay in Port Elizabeth.  This leaves her 15 shots behind the leader.

Are the French finally fed up with the ‘migrants’?  The US Supreme Court will overturn Trump’s travel ban – that’s a given, but it will be interesting to see what reasons they come up with to justify their decision.  US administration officials to meet with Kim Jong Un – I’d love to be fly on the wall during that meeting!  Zimbabwe looking to re-enter the Commonwealth – now if that’s not irony…

Ramphosa has his work cut out for him, and now Cuba won’t be training our doctors anymore – eish – guess I don’t begrudge him his salary.

Bus strike continues – ask any good detective and they’ll tell you to follow the money – and the trail leads back to the taxi industry.  Christine Lagarde gets nervous at the prospect of a US-China trade war – fasten your seatbelt lady – it could get ugly.

Nadal puts even more distance between himself and the second-best clay-court player of all time [Mats Wilander for my money].  Chad le Clos gives back to swimming.  How good was AB de Villiers again on Friday night?  Ninety-odd off thirty-nine balls – the man is a genius.
