Thursday Morning Edition

 Good morning all,

My View

It seems as though the spat over who is mayor of Knysna boils down to the age-old conflict between local- and central authority.  The Knysna Ratepayer’s Association has come out in support of Mark Willemse.  Willemse accuses the DA of dragging its feet over accusations of maladministration.  The DA accuses Willemse of not following due process.  But, what happens if that due process is dragging on too long.  I favour local authority over central authority.  Time will tell…

The world reacts to the outcomes of the Trump-Kim meeting.

The DA is beginning to consolidate its hold on the three metros.  The new PP comes under even more fire.

The Fed raises interest rates and if the SARB doesn’t follow, a lot of money will leave SA again – actually it’s already started to happen as the Rand plunges.  Will the lights go off or stay on – things are still up in the air.

Rassie keeps the English guessing – I’m liking him more and more.
