The success of the fifth Knysna Timber Festival – held at Timber Village over the weekend of 5-7 October, 2018 – was a powerful demonstration of the Garden Route’s resilience in the aftermath of last year’s devastating fires, which seriously affected the timber value chain.
Good progress is being made with a Department of Transport and Public Works (DTPW) project to upgrade the portion of MR344 (R102) between Hartenbos and Groot-Brakrivier, as well as the portion of DR1578 between Tergniet and Wolwedans.
The annual competition forms part of the George Municipality’s awareness activities during Transport Month in October, and is aimed at highlighting traffic safety at schools. Date: Friday 26 October 2018
