Wednesday Morning Edition

Good morning all,

Karatara families get title deeds.  George Lights Festival attracts 8000.  No bees allowed in residential areas.  George Municipality will be closed from midday on 21 Dec to 2 Jan.  Ward 19 awards good citizenship.  George Municipality tests for HIV – celebrates World Disability Day – declares itself ready for the season.  On a personal note, it seems Sean Snyman has found his calling in life – so happy for you my friend.

Madibaz B (essentially the George Campus team) dusts of Free State in the final of the cricket week – and that without Jean du Plessis as well – great achievement.  SWD cricketers suffer their first 3-day defeat of the season.  For once, the batsmen underperformed – but it was close.  Rain washed out the 1-day game.  SWD Cricket League results and fixtures.  SWD age-group teams produce mixed results over the first 3 days.

Theresa May still scrambling to save Brexit.  Brexit was a Rubicon moment for Britain – backing down will result in slaughter.  Iran is still playing with their nukes.  Trump is going to build that wall, even he gets his soldiers to do it.  Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi looked like two naughty puppies getting a scolding yesterday.  Clearly, the Dems fear a government shutdown – and Trump will use it.

The 4 VBS enablers gone – Moyane gone – finally – new SABC board on the way – the renewal gathers strength.  I don’t buy the DA’s line that the ANC is incapable of ruling – sounds more like desperation electioneering to me.

JSE looks better at the end of a tough year.  16000 jobs lost in the 3’rd quarter – eish.  Denel at least has the money to pay back its dodgy loan.

One was all Liverpool needed, but how many goals can one man butcher on one night!  I don’t buy that Victor Matfield prefers the safety of a broadcaster’s job – there’s something else there.  Springbok coaches will get involved in Super Rugby – that’s about time – all the Super Rugby coaches need it.  Chad le Clos beaten in Japan – but only by a world record.
