From Matthew Koehorst, Program Manager- Eden Festival of Action +27 (0)21 461 9265 / +27(0)76 618 9722
I am working as the project manager for the Greenpop Festival of Action taking place in the Garden Route from the 22nd of June to the 14th of July. It’s a 3 week program of environmental topics ranging from reforestation and urban tree planting to natural building, permaculture, invasive plant control and citizen science projects. We have approximately 60-100 people that come for each week.
We are looking for suitable sites for reforestation planting as part of the program- in total we are aiming to plant 5000 trees, and already have two sites lined up however want to give land owners and organisations opportunity to be involved as well.
Please see below a link for an application form to participate as a reforestation site- We would provide trees and volunteer labour for the planting, and the site would support in terms of logistics, ongoing care and invasive plant management.
