Wednesday Morning Edition

Good morning all,

WRAP

Oudtshoorn Municipality is ready to host and render additional services as the 25th KKNK starts this week, running from the 21st till the 27th of March.  Holy Cross Primary learners who were one of the first schools in the Southern Cape to use Eco bricks, a 2 litre bottle stuffed to the brim with unrecyclable plastic, to build a bench, went further to decorate the bench with plastic bottle caps they had gathered.  George Municipality Environmental Services in collaboration with Cape Nature, Community Worker’s Programme, Breede Gourits Catchment Agency and Garden Route Municipality, held a clean-up operation in Lawaaikamp Borchards dumping site in Garcia Street last Week.  The Khayalethu Library team hosted a Reading Rally in partnership with nine Pre-Schools in Knysna on 13 March. This initiative is part of the annual Library Week, programme. The Librarians were assisted by Traffic and Fire Departments for safety and traffic control.  There is a Bitou DA public meeting election rally on Saturday 23 March at New Horizons Community Hall starting at 2.00 pm.

The Coca-Cola All-Star team completed a ‘dream’ weekend with a hard-fought win against a Cricket South Africa Hub team in a curtain raiser to the 2019 Coca-Cola Schools T20 Challenge National Finals in Pretoria.  Competition Ramps Up for the Classic Conqueror Title at 2019 Jaguar Simola Hillclimb.

I’d better not write any commentary this morning apart from some obscene language to all those who have voted for the ANC in the last 10 years.
