The Gremlin is an online news and information web site for the Garden Route.  E mails with all the latest headlines and some commentary are distributed to a permission-based list of about 600 recipients at 8am and 2pm weekdays.  [Click here to view and subscribe to the newsletter].  Towns covered include George, Plettenberg Bay, Knysna, Sedgefield, Mossel Bay and Oudtshoorn. 

The Gremlin morning edition [8am] covers International, National, Business and Sports News.  The afternoon edition [2pm] covers Garden Route news and includes Press Releases, Regular Columns as well as posts shared on my Facebook page.

It is my aim to create an online community of internet marketers that derives maximum benefit from this dynamic and cost effective medium at very little or no cost to you.  The Gremlin will be the driving force behind this initiative.

2.  The ‘Web hosting and advertising combination’ option is for Companies that do not have a web site or would be prepared to have South Cape Net host their website [from R100 pm] and secure FREE advertising in The Gremlin.  See more below…

4.  The ‘Free Facebook, Twitter and Blog set-up in return for news’ option is for anyone wanting to harness the Social Media platforms in order to keep clients, members etc up to date with their latest news.  See more below…

[Web hosting includes 1 e mail address on your domain – but no dial up facilities.  The rates above are for small to medium-sized companies with a limit of 4 Gb e mail- and 1 Gb web usage.  Companies requiring or using more will be charged accordingly – R0.05/Mg e mail traffic over usage & R5/Mb web space over usage.  Bigger packages are available for large companies]

The Gremlin has been published twice daily [weekdays] since October 2009.  It was relaunched in its present form on 10 January 2011.  My target market includes business owners, front office personnel and anyone else interested in keeping up to date.  I stay away from sensational news stories and concentrate on the bigger stories – with a specific focus on Business News.  Readership currently reaches 1650+ daily with 10 000+ unique visitors per month.

If you are satisfied with your existing web site and internet service provider, but you require additional exposure then this is the option for you.

We will transfer existing web sites free of charge.  Companies wanting a new web site will have the option of paying off the cost of the build over a period of 12 months.  These adverts will appear on all the pages under the heading – Hosted by South Cape Net.

3.  FREE FACEBOOK, TWITTER & BLOG SET UP IN RETURN FOR NEWS 

The Social Media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and the Blogs have turned internet advertising into a SELF-SERVICE commodity much like what self-service retail stores did for shopping.  Companies can now run dynamic advertising and customer relations campaigns at a fraction of the cost of printed media and/or phone calls and personal consultations.  

I will build your Facebook page, Twitter page and Blog as well as show you how to use them completely free of charge provided that they are updated with news we can use in The Gremlin at least once per week. 

Requirements: 

• a computer with internet access,
• one person to take responsibility for updates,
• G mail e mail address,
• 960×198 pixel banner advert,
• Logo, and
• About 2 hours of your time. 

4.  PRESS RELEASES 

If you would like to advertise a specific event, special offer or publish a press release then this is the option for you.  These articles will appear on the Home Page under the categories FEATURED BUSINESSES.  I will publish completed articles free of charge initially.  Those requiring assistance can contact me and I will put you in charge with someone who will write one for you – for a fee of course.

5.  FREE BUSINESS DIRECTORY LISTINGS 

I am currently updating my Business Contact date base of about 15 000 companies along the Garden Route. The data base is divided into the following towns: 

• George, Plettenberg Bay, Knysna, Sedgefield, Mossel Bay, and Oudtshoorn. 

Companies are divided into the following categories: 

• Accommodation, Construction, Dining Out, Leisure, Medical, Service Providers, and Traders 

Each category is further sub-divided and the entire data base will be available alphabetically under each town. 

The Business Directory will be available in three formats: 

• As an online directory in The Gremlin.
• As a desktop directory that may be downloaded from the internet and installed on your computer.  It looks and functions like a book – turn the pages by clicking your mouse.  An older version is available at http://www.southcapenet.com/directories.htm in the meantime.
• As a mobile directory for WAP-enabled cell phones.  This site is under construction, but can be viewed at www.044.co.za
