Eagles narrowly lose to EP Kings

The Eagles narrowly lost their first Currie Cup match of the season to the EP Kings at the Nelson Mandela Stadium inPort Elizabeth28 -20. Both teams scored one try each, with the remaining points coming from penalities. Howard Noble crossed the tryline for the Eagles, while Norman Nelson scored a fortuitous try for the EP Kings.

The Eagles enjoyed majority ball possession for large periods of the match and was unlucky not to leavePort Elizabethwith a win. The Eagles however played against a team that competed in the Nations Cup tournament and that boasts several high profile signings, amongst others Luke Watson and the Eagles can definitely feel optimistic about their prospects for the Currie Cup.
