Tourism stakeholders warned of murder suspect on the run

Jens Leunberg

The South African Police are looking for a suspect who is believed to be involved in the disappearance and probable murder of Jeffreys Bay businessman and guest house owner Claus Schroeder.

Jens Leunberg has been on the run since Monday when the Police arrested his partner Krissi Adler, who appeared in court yesterday. Her case was postponed to 28 July for a formal bail application. Adler was ordered to remain in custody.

If you have seen him or know his whereabouts please contact Inspector Danie Siebert of the Jeffery´s Bay Police Department on 072 720 45 63. Do not confront him as he might be armed.

Jens Leunberg is a German national who speaks very little English and might be travelling with a red Toyota Conquest BNB 217 EC.

He is 34 years old, has long blond hair put together to a pony tail, is about 1,73 m tall, slender and could be travelling with his coloured girlfriend, identity unknown.

He was last seen in the area of Thornhill, Port Elizabeth, Jeffreys Bay and might be travelling towards Alexandria, Grahamstown, East London but can be already anywhere in South Africa as he is since Monday night on the run.

He might try to hide in accommodation establishments under the cover of a travelling tourist and might have changed his appearance (hair style and colour). If you have the slightest suspicion please do contact Inspector Siebert on 072 720 45 63 immediately!

Thank you for your assistance and stay alert.
