Margot Swiss joins cutlery with Garden Route on a Plate

Spring is in the air and all around there is a wonderful sense of nature coming together to bring forth something new.

Blossoms wait graciously for honeybees, and all around butterflies emerge from their dormant wrappings. Even humans are joining in the joy of the season by embracing coming together. And no, nobody’s talking about the rallying behind the Springboks in their bid to bring back the cup or the countless renditions of “love is in the air” that is flooding the airwaves.

The Southern Cape is abloom with a bright new collaboration that is set to make the month of spring a very memorable one in the hearts and on the palates of guests for years to come. Margot Swiss has joined forces with the team behind Garden Route on a Plate as main sponsor of this wonderfully festive fooding event happening from 16-17 September on the school grounds of PW Botha College.

“It is a very exciting development and we are really energized about working with such an established and well-loved local brand like Margot Swiss,” according to François Ferreira; celebrity, chef, co-owner of Eden School of Culinary Art and foodie extraordinaire about the blossoming alliance.

Garden Route on a Plate, now more than ever, is sure to get your taste buds tingling as some of the best foods and the best wines come together for a food lover’s delight. Whether you just want to taste test every scrumptious dish and delectable wine or decide to make a meal of your favourite, the choice is yours.

Well-known Garden Route restaurants like Transkaroo, Chef Alma, La Locanda, Top 2 Catering and Kafe Serefe, have already come on board, whilst wine farms range from NLR wines, Ladismith Wines, Karusa, Oudtshoorn Cellars, and Barrydale Cellars. The Eden School of Culinary Art will present a series of workshops in the main hall of the Culinary Art School, presented by local chefs like Karen du Plessis from Unilever, Chef Dario Soresi from La Locanda, Adrian Louw from Margot Swiss and François Ferreira himself.
