Tin House Café charms Knysna visitors and local alike

Knysna, Western Cape, 2011 — The Tin House Café has succeeded in charming both Knysna locals and visitors alike with their service and fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Placed perfectly on Grey Streetin the heart of Knysna, The Tin House Café has successfully managed to create an environment that brings great food, fantastic service and a comfortable atmosphere together as one.

“I have always wanted to create a place like this” states Bernice Haman, “a little garden coffee shop with a magical outdoor area where people can enjoy great food, fantastic company and be close to nature at the same time. It’s almost like a picnic, but with cutlery and waiters”.

Ensuring that all ingredients are sourced locally, are fresh and seasonal, Bernice is not only aware of her environment, but of her guests well-being as well. “I only believe in the freshest ingredients; think farm to table and our next step is to create our own vegetable garden at the back where we will be able to grow our much of the salad greens and vegetables we need ourselves, as well as create a space for a wormery, whereby we aim to eliminate much of our organic waste by creating nutritious compost for both the vegetable patch and Tin House Café garden”.

The Tin House Café is open from Monday to Saturday from 08h00 to 17h00 out of season, and seven days a week in season and also offers a great selection of sweets and confectionary, lovingly created by Bernice and her team to take a little bit of the Tin House Café home with you.
