The Athletics SWD / DECTI Raising-the-bar Cross Country Team achieved fantastic performances at the SA Cross Country Championships in Bloemfontein on Saturday 17 September 2011. The event was well supported with almost 3000 athletes participating – some races had almost 200 entries. Congratulations to our 5 medal winners: Gold Medals to Heilanie Streuderst (Hartenbos Drawwers) and Elfounsau Links (Teske Primary) and BRONZE Medals to Zainel Spogter (Teske Primary), Leigh-Zandro Hendricks (Murraysburg Primary) and Gurome Gelderbloem (Mossel Bay Harriers). Almost half of our team (74 athletes) finished within the first 35 positions.
