PREMIER LEAGUE RESULTS: SWD CRICKET

George, Pacaltsdorp United and Sussex all recorded victories in the second round of Premier League fixtures of the SWD Cricket Board.
George was victorious by 6 wickets after they dismissed Ramblers for 133 and thereafter, thanks to good batting performances by Kevin Damons (42) and Ross McMillan (30) scored the winning runs (138/4) with six wickets in hand. Emil Esau was instrumental as bowler as Sussex dismissed Knysna Cavaliers for only 99 runs. Mpho Silowa (33), Gerald Witbooi (27) and Ranwill Claassen all contributed with the bat to secure a 7 wicket win for Sussex.
Mossel Bay, who scored a competitive 186 was stunned by Pacaltsdorp who won by 3 wickets. Ruall de Reuck with the ball (4/55) and Brendall Carelse with the bat (64*) were instrumental in helping Pacaltsdorp to a vital away victory.

The second round of fixtures in the SWD Promotion- and Reserve Leagues were contested during the past week. Ladismith recorded a nail biting one wicket victory over NMMU whilst Riversdale (beat Thembalethu by 74 runs), Pirates United (beat Hartenbos by 8 wickets), Calitzdorp (beat Selbourne by 12 runs), Heidelberg (beat Blanco by 22 runs) and Bongolethu (beat Dysselsdorp by 256) all recorded victories. On Sunday Calitzdorp beat NMMU by 15 runs and Melkhoutfontein beat Pioneers by 69 runs.
In the Twenty20 knock out preliminary round Mossel Bay became the eight team to qualify for the quarter finals.
