A tough challenge is awaiting the SWD Women’s team when they take on two of the most powerful teams in the Cricket South Africa Women’s Challenge this weekend. The SWD ladies will play Western Province at Old Mutual Park in Pinelands on Saturday and Boland in Paarl on Sunday.
The team, coached by Salvin Hannie and captained by Annemie Koen, realises the challenge but they are confident that they will be good competition against provincial teams that both have South African players in their midst. The SWD women won their only fixture of the season convincingly when they defeated Kei in Mthatha.
The SWD team will be selected from the following squad: Yolandi Saayman, Mochelle May, Annemie Koen (capt), Ezrin van Aswegen, Elzaan Petersen, Thalitha Johnson, Sonet Fourie, Monique Booysen, Marnizelle Rabie, Janet Winster, Berenice Goliath, Kaylene Pypers and Bernadine Bezuidenhout.
