Make or break for the SWD women’s cricket team

Elzaan Pietersen, who made a century for her club the past weekend, will be a key player in the SWD Women's team.

It’s make or break for the SWD Women’s team when they take on Border (on Saturday) and Eastern Province (on Sunday) in the Cricket South Africa Women’s Challenge this weekend. The SWD ladies will have home ground advantage when they host the two Eastern Cape teams at the Recreation Ground in Oudtshoorn.

Victories in both matches will put the SWD team in the second position of the East Coast pool of the competition and will be a true reflection of the potential of this team. The application of basic cricket skills will be needed to achieve the desired aim and should be the focus of Annemie Koen and her team. The fourteen year old sensation, Micheala Andrews will make her debut for the team.

The SWD team for the weekend is: Yolandi Saayman, Mochelle May, Annemie Koen (capt), Ezrin van Aswegen, Elzaan Petersen, Sonet Fourie, Monique Booysen, Marnizelle Rabie, Janet Winster, Berenice Goliath, Kaylene Pypers and Micheala Andrews.
