TOP OF THE TABLE CLASH
With only eight points separating log leaders, Griqualand West (at 119.50 points) after nine matches and SWD (111.60 points) after the same number of matches the table is set for the top of the table clash in the CSA Provincial Three Day competition. SWD will host this vital fixture which starts at the Recreation Ground in Oudtshoorn on Thursday. The limited over match will be played on Sunday.
The SWD selectors will again strive to strike the perfect balance when they will finalise the final eleven for this crucial game — a solid batting order and a bowling unit that can take twenty wickets in the match. Christiaan Jonker is in fine form with the bat whilst Gurshwin Rabie is having a brilliant season with the ball. A fit Wessel Hartslief will be crucial in the SWD bowling attack to support Rabie and the rest of the seam attack of Douglas Baartman and Rhupino Plaatjies. A consistent batting performance will be the key for the home team. Jonker is in fine form with the bat but support from the front line batters will be crucial.
Griquas, although weakened by call-ups to players on T20 franchise duty will field a strong side with the likes of Niel Bredenkamp (who played for SWD), Alan Kruger, Charl Pietersen and Roy Adams.
The SWD team will be selected from the following squad of players: Ross McMillan, Waldo Lategan, Burton de Wett, Christiaan Jonker, Brendon Louw, Pieter Stuurman, Kobus Scholtz, Wessel Hartslief, Douglas Baartman, Gurshwin Rabie, Rhupino Plaatjies, Mpho Selowa, Christo van Schalkwyk and Justin Jordaan.

Victories in both previous matches against Border andEasternProvincerespectively gave the SWD ladies a confidence boost and underlined the potential of this team. Annemie Koen and her team will be aiming to again apply basic cricket skills to outmanoeuvre teams that have national players in their line-up with the likes of Allison Hodgkinson (Boland) and Shandre Fritz (WesternProvince)
