This is a fund raising event organised by Stilbaai Animal Protection, a charity that is funded soley by donations and helps many animals in the area, whether they are domestic, farm or wildlife from the wilderness areas around our small town.
The Fair is held to promote, demonstrate and sell the articles made by ‘local’ people and only made inSouth Africa. Originally limited to locals it has become nationally known and we now have people from all over the country.
Items for sale range from work by artists and craftsmen and cover a wide range of products from olives and truffles, plants, paintings and décor items, recycled tins, wirework and woodwork, toys to jewellery, soaps and beauty products (organic and not tested on animals), plus lots of edible goodies – rusks, jams, biscuits and lots of cupcakes! There is also a coffee shop. Prices suit all pockets, from R2 to R2000.
Well known for the Fair held in December this is the first one to be held at during the Easter school holidays, and is being done by popular demand, both by the vendors and some of the many holiday makers who love our town.
