Western Cape Local Government MEC Anton Bredell on Thursday said he will not protect DA councillors.
He was accused of protecting DA councillors who were implicated in wrongdoing.
As an example, the party cited Eden District in George, where three senior DA officials are facing charges of bribery and corruption.
The party said Bredell was quick to act against ANC councillors and not his own party colleagues.
Bredell said the matter was currently being dealt with.
“I got an independent person because I knew DA councillors were involved and it is currently lying at the legal services within the province.”
