‘Killer’ teen remains in hospital

A Southern Cape teenager accused of killing a woman on a farm outside George remains in hospital.

The 16-year-old was arrested over the weekend.

He is accused of murdering a 64-year-old woman during a botched robbery at a Dagbreek farm.

During the attack, her husband allegedly shot the teen in the shoulder.

The police’s Malcolm Pojie said the suspect is still receiving medical attention.

“The 16-year-old appeared in absentia on Wednesday in the George Magistrate’s Court. He is still being treated for two gunshot wounds. The case was postponed to April 13.”

Meanwhile,South Africahas experienced an exodus of farmers due to the ongoing farm killings.

The Transvaal Agricultural Union (Tau) has offered to work with police to curb the murders.
