Shamwari Conservation Experience recently donated almost 500 shrubs of Spekboom to a local high school, Theodor Herzl, in Port Elizabeth to help them with their ‘Greening Project’.
Spekboom is indigenous to the Eastern Cape and is renowned for its absorbing abilities to take in large amounts of carbon dioxide which is known to be responsible for climate change. Spekboom converts the carbon dioxide into oxygen.
Shamwari Conservation Experience is an ongoing association that Shamwari Game Reserve has implemented to ensure they are doing all they can to stay environmentally friendly, sustainable and make an impact on the local communities around them as well as offering training and multiple courses which are available to those that wish to go into the fields of conservation or field guiding.
