Received from Aidan Wood:
Please read the following carefully. There is a lot of information about the Draft and the next series of workshops.
The Draft Eden Coastal Management Programme is now available for review/comment. It can be accessed from theEdenMunicipalitywebsite. Go to www.edendm.co.za then click on the Coastal Programme on the menu on the left of the page then click on the Eden District Coastal Management Programme.
The following documents will appear, each of which can be downloaded separately:
Draft CMP Figures (7099.94 Kb)
Draft Management Action Plans Afrikaans (177.95 Kb)
Draft Management Action Plans English (180.07 Kb)
EdenDM Coastal Management Programme Phase II Volume IV (282.31 Kb)
EdenDM Coastal Management Programme Report Phase II Volume III (602.67 Kb)
EdenDM Coastal Management Programme Report Afrikaans: Fase II Deel III (583.87 Kb)
Please note that only the core sections of the CMP have been translated.
These include the main report (Phase II Volume III) and the Management Action Plans (strategies). Due to time constraints and budget, the Appendices (Phase II Volume IV) have not been translated. I have done the translation myself, so please bear with me if there are a few grammatical or syntax errors. If something does not make sense or appears to have been lost in translation please contact me for clarification.
Comments can be forwarded to me and I will take these into account for the upcoming workshops and the final report. I have attached a template which should be used for comments specifically about the Management Action Plans.
The cost to print and mail hard copies to individual stakeholders is prohibitive. Hard copies will, however, be available at Municipal offices at the following venues from the end of next week –PlettenbergBay, Knysna, George (and Eden District office), Mossel Bay, Stilbay and Witsand. Please do not remove these copies from the venues.
The timetable for the second series of workshops where the Draft will be discussed is as follows (postponed from the dates supplied in the original notices and the first workshops; please note that all times are 18h00 except Witsand, which will be at 16h00):
30 July ˆPlettenberg Bay; Piesang Valley Community Hall (18h00)
31 July ˆ Hornlee; Municipal Library Complex (18h00)
1 August ˆMosselBay; Town Hall (18h00)
2 August ˆ George; Banquet Hall (18h00)
3 August ˆ Witsand; Community Hall (16h00)
Weekend
6 August ˆ Stilbay; Melkhoutfontein Community Hall (18h00)
7 August ˆ Albertinia; Town Hall (18h00)
8 August ˆ Wilderness Beach Hotel (18h00)
9 August ˆ Public holiday
10August ˆ Sedgefield; Municipal Hall (18h00)
Neither the Knysna nor the Brenton-on-Sea Hall was available, which is why Sedgefield has been used as a venue instead.
Thank-you for your continued participation.
Regards
Aidan Wood
