Eden Fm has resolved all differences and plans AGM for 2012

The Southern Cape Community Radio station Eden Fm has resolved its management and Board differences and has agreed to resolve all conflict and work together to build the Radio station as the Southern Cape’s voice of choice.

Various role-players in the community, like Mr Wessie van Der Westhuizen, Eden District Mayor, played a very constructive role in assisting all parties to come to agreements on the future of the community radio station. On a special meeting in May 2012 the Board and Management of the station has signed an agreement to :

–          Suspend the contract between Eden Broadcasting, the Management and Sales Company started by the station manager, Mr Morné Pietersen, and to re-appoint all staff members in their current positions under the section 21 Company.

–          To call an Annual General Meeting on 26 July 2012 where a fully constituted new Board will be elected out of the community.

–          Oversee the Management and the finances of the station under the management of the station manager and a special committee appointed by the Board of Directors.

–          Pastor Leon Prinsloo, Mr Avril Ahrends and Mr Morne Pietersen will manage the finances of the station until a new Board is appointed at the AGM.

This agreement as well as the date of the Annual General Meeting was signed and supplied to ICASA, the regulator of Broadcasting. We are glad that we could agree on taking the station positively forward, mr Morne Pietersen, station manager said.

Community members of the Southern Cape are now invited to register as members and pay up their membership fee of R20 per month since January 2012, to be legible to vote on the AGM. Amendments to the constitution and nominations for new Board members of Eden Fm must reach the offices by by 12 July 2012. For more information on membership, amendments and nominations, Mrs Frankie Crause at the offices can be contacted on  044- 874 5085 or at admin@edenfm.co.za.

The AGM will be held at the George Museum Hall on 26 July 2012 at 19h00.
