The construction of new dressing room facilities at the Recreation Ground in Oudtshoorn is progressing according to plan and will be in use when the new cricket season kicks-off in September. Phase 1, which includes a newly constructed office complex that also makes provision for a President suite and a conference room was completed in October last year. Phase 1, with a costing of R2,76mil, was funded by the National Lotteries Board.
The construction of new cloakrooms and players suites – the second phase – are funded by grants from the National Lotteries Board to the value of R750 000 and R300 000 from a new partner, the SA Sports Trust. The SWD Cricket Board made provision for the balance of the expenses from own funds.
