Sea Rescue is once again a finalist in the Centrum Guardian Competition 2012. This Competition is about educating the public and nurturing respect for rescue and response teams in an industry sometimes taken for granted. NSRI is the only Non-Profit Organisation up for nomination this year, and the only crew made up entirely of volunteers.
Watch Ruda Landman present this exciting competition on SABC 3 every Thursday evening at 10h10 with repeats on Friday mornings at 10.00 am. Sea Rescue will be featured on the 16 and 17th of August for their incredible rescue of a young school boy off Swartvlei Beach in January this year.
This competition is governed by votes, so PLEASE SUPPORT SEA RESCUE and sms the word STAMINA to 33123 (R1.50/sms – you may vote as many times as you like, each vote donates .20c to the NSRI Station) or vote for free online at www.centrumguardian.com (x10 free votes per e mail address) and navigate to STAMINA.
Voting closes on 30 September when four finalists will be announced, so please VOTE, VOTE and VOTE some more! Let’s bring this trophy back to the Garden Route, last year’s worthy winner was Deon van Wyk from the Eden Fire Department. Support the Garden Route, support Sea Rescue, Vote STAMINA!
