Oudtshoorn residents send out cries to Madonsela

CAPE TOWN – Civic organisations in Oudtshoorn are concerned instability in their municipality is hampering service delivery.

Four organisations representing residents have written to Public Protector Advocate Thuli Madonsela to raise concerns about poor service delivery in theKarootown.

The council has been plagued by allegations of corruption and mismanagement.

It is also embroiled in a legal battle where the appointment of the current municipal manager has been challenged.

George Kersop, the chairperson of AfriForum in the area, said the level of service delivery was “completely inadequate.”
