For delicious food, fantastic merchandise, live music and a vibe that can’t be beat, head to Bay Harbour Market this weekend.
Taking to the Brampton Sound Stage on October 26 for Friday Nite LIVE! is four-piece pop-rock sensation Hotel Iris. This unique band combines soulful, bluesy undertones with pop rhythms to tantalize even the most turbid of ears. Hotel Iris has been making serious waves on the local music scene having recently played an acoustic set with popular SA outfit Zebra and Giraffe. The band also holds the title of Band Survivor Hout Bay 2012 and is sure to complement the great energy of the market.
Hitting the stage on Saturday October 27 is ‘one-man-band’ Manuel Alves. Having played extensively in Europe, Manuel has developed his own unique style of blues that draws its influence from the likes of Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler and Bob Dylan. Now residing in Cape Town, Manuel will wow Bay Harbour Market audiences with his distinctive musical style.
Ending the weekend off on October 28 from 1pm to 3pm is guitar master Tinus van Dyk. Tinus is one of the few local exponents of finger-style guitar music. His compositions combine this challenging technique with an eclectic range of folk influences from around the world. From jazz and blues to Spanish guitar, classical, and rock this guitar virtuoso explores a range of musical styles.
