Guitar legend Steve Newman will be performing a tribute gig on Sunday November 4th at Bay Harbour Market to celebrate the life of renowned bassist Neil van der Walt.
Steve Newman needs no introduction for SA music-lovers. A stalwart of the South African music scene, he is a highly accomplished acoustic guitarist who has developed a massive following of loyal fans. Probably best known as a member of the ground-breaking band Tananas, Steve has shared the stage with the likes of Tony Cox, Wendy Oldfield and the late Gito Baloi.
Steve played alongside bassist Neil van der Walt for many years and the two formed a strong bond. Sadly Neil passed away recently leaving a big gap in the Cape music scene. However, he left behind a legacy of incredible music. Steve Newman will pay homage to the great artist with two 45-minute sets at Bay Harbour Market on Sunday, November 4. The gigs kick off at 11h30.
