The SWD cricket team will continue their campaign for the 2012/13 season this weekend when they take on Boland in Paarl in the Cricket South Africa Provincial Challenge.
Boland, who defeated Eastern Province in Port Elizabeththe past weekend, will be a tough challenge for the visitors. In Charl Langeveldt and Johann Louw (who both represented South Africa) they will have a quality bowling attack and solid batting line-up boosted by the presence of Ryan Canning.
SWD will field a formidable line-up and the selectors have picked an unchanged team after SWD defeated WesternProvince two weeks ago. Luthando Mnyanda, Glen Addicot and Adrian McLaren don’t need any introduction to this format of the game but will have a huge responsibility to provide stability in the SWD batting line-up. Both Christiaan Jonker and Gurshwin Rabie were released by Warriors coach, Piet Botha, for this match and their presence will definitely boost the home team’s confidence.
The SWD squad for the weekend is: Ross McMillan (captain), Luthando Mnyanda, Adrian McLaren, Christiaan Jonker, Glen Addicot, Brendon Louw, Kobus Scholtz, Douglas Baartman, Phabhama Fojela, Marcello Piedt and Gurshwin Rabie. Pieter Stuurman , Gareth Dukes and Reece Williams will be added for the limited over match.
