Look & Listen and Vox Telecom offer free Gigs for Gamers this holiday season

Top entertainment retailer Look & Listen has teamed up with Vox Telecom to bring dedicated gaming enthusiasts a special offer over the festive period. Customers will receive 40GB of gamer-optimised, premium bandwidth with every purchase of selected new game releases and/or Xbox, PlayStation 3 and Wii U consoles.

From 13 November, gamers around the country will have access to Vox Telecom’s newest ADSL product – Wildfire – when they purchase their copy of the eagerly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Available in two variations (a usage based and a fixed monthly charge version), Look & Listen will be offering their customers 40GB of Wildfire bandwidth free with Call of Duty: Black Ops II, as well as other games (such as Far Cry 3) and Xbox, PS3 and Wii U consoles going forward.

Wildfire bandwidth has been designed for gamers from the ground up, with Vox Telecom’s highest quality bandwidth available 24/7. And while gamers will be able to use the bandwidth for any other function (email, browsing, downloading, etc.), nothing will interrupt gaming.

“The cost of bandwidth has often meant that gamers could not enjoy the interactive elements of cutting-edge games. They could buy the game, but not fully explore the global network capabilities,” says Clayton Timcke, Head of Group Marketing at Vox Telecom. “Now they can try out a product designed specifically for them and experience gaming as it should be.”

Anthony Terblanche, merchandising and planning manager at Look & Listen, has a passion for gaming and first person shooters in particular. “What’s especially important for this type of gamer is low latency. I experienced a smooth and latency free service testing Wildfire. It is exciting for us to be able to offer this incredible service with 40GB FREE with the purchase of Call of Duty: Black Ops II.”

Once gamers have used up their free 40GB, they can either top up in 20GB Wildfire bundles (R350 per bundle), or purchase the fixed monthly Wildfire package (R275 per month). The biggest advantage of Wildfire is that all gaming ports are prioritised at all times to ensure that gaming is completely unshaped and dedicated, and will not be interrupted during congestion periods.

The initial 40GB voucher, which is exclusive to Look & Listen, is available with selected titles and consoles at any of the stores nationwide. Once gamers get home, all they need to do is validate their voucher code on the voxwildfire.co.za website and update their ADSL account details in order to experience superior-quality gaming.

“We’ve put a lot of effort into Wildfire and we’re finally at the stage where we can offer the gaming community a product that’s designed specifically for them. Get to your local Look & Listen store or shop online at www.lookandlisten.co.za from 13 November – Wildfire is the perfect gift for the holiday season.”
