Fiberlink partnership rounds out mobile device management offering from Vox Telecom

Vox Telecom has secured a direct partnership with US-based Fiberlink to distribute the Maas360 mobile device management solution in South Africa, rounding out the company’s enterprise mobility offering.

“Our strategy is to offer mobile device management (MDM) solutions that can be tailored to the needs of everyone from blue chip companies to SMEs,” says Will Hardie, Executive Head of Vox Telecom’s Enterprise Mobility division. “Between Maas360 and MobileIron, we have a three-tier offering that can meet the needs of any client.”

This three-tier offering is unique in the South African market, says Hardie.  “At the high end, some of our clients prefer to host their own solution on-premises,” explains Hardie, “and MobileIron leads the pack for this type of solution. We’ve also created a private hosted solution, based on MobileIron and hosted in our own data centre, as a hybrid option for the mid-tier. And for companies who are looking for a public cloud or software-as-a-service solution, Maas360 is the clear leader.”

Hardie says Maas360 is very easy to implement and self-provision and Gartner rates Fiberlink’s global tech support highly. “Fiberlink also have a very strong strategy around the Blackberry environment. Maas360 will effectively treat a Blackberry phone just like any other, so companies can continue to support their Blackberry users without needing to own a BES server.  That makes a lot of sense in a context where everyone is trying to streamline and simplify their environments.”

Maas360 is entirely device, OS and operator agnostic adds Hardie. “Not tying yourself down to any particular manufacturer or network is the core message of the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) era. We believe Vox Telecom has an advantage here too: We aggregate the services of other telcos so we are able to provide truly network-agnostic services. “
