Bay Harbour audiences are in for a treat on Friday January 4th when New York based vocalist, composer, arranger, actress and dancer Angel Rose makes her South African debut on the Bay Harbour Sound Stage. Legendary director, Michael Bennett recognized Angel’s talent and requested that she join the national company of his highly acclaimed production “Dreamgirls.” As lead understudy, Angel Rose contributed greatly to the historic tour of this classic, with venues in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and of course, Broadway in New York City. A milestone in Angel’s career was her association with industry great, Bruce Springsteen, where she was selected to join his camp for Springsteen’s 1993 MTV special and international tour.
Rose’s additional concert credentials include Bon Jovi, Jerry Lee Lewis, Lionel Richie, and Mary J. Blige.
On Saturday January 5th, eclectic jazz band Nossa Vida brings a blend of well-known jazz standards, bossa novas, Spanish guitar pieces, originals and Portuguese traditional songs to the stage. The acoustic guitar duo, comprised of Keith Macfarlane and Alan Bowen (Father and son-in-law), is no stranger to the stage and should add to a blissful, relaxed Saturday at Bay Harbour.
Entertaining audiences on Sunday January 6th is acoustic guitarist extraordinaire Tinus van Dyk, who will be joined on stage by one of his talented students, Ben Smith, in this unique acoustic finger-style guitar collaboration. Together they blend folk influences from around the world into originally composed masterpieces. From jazz and blues to Spanish guitar and classical, Tinus van Dyk explores a wide range of musical styles. Ben Smith, a student of Tinus for 7 years, is a young and talented acoustic guitar prodigy showing amazing skills for his age.
