Only a few days to go before Up the Creek lights up the Breederiver with some of the best music that SA has to offer. Three stages, a river party and an all round VIP for all feeling, Up the Creek 2013 promises to be one of the highlights on your getaway calendar.
Get there when you can and join us in for a weekend of fun where time is not a problem. There are no meetings to worry about, no traffic jams getting kids to school, no peak hour traffic at Up The Creek. What there is is a lush green carpet of grass upon which to relax as some of this country’s finest entertain you. There’s also a river in which to soak up those fierce sunbeams – or moonbeams, if you prefer.
The bands and artists that will be performing are: Karen Zoid, ISO, YOAV, Jeremy Loops, BEAST, Dave Ferguson, Goodnight Wembley, Machineri, Tailor, Tombstone Pete, Piet Botha & Liz, Peachy Keen, Lucy Kruger, The Mysticcs, No One`s Arc, Black Cat Bones, Nomadic Orchestra, Grassy Spark, Dirty Bounce, December Streets, Woodstock Mafia, Trenton & the Radicals, Saint Fearless, Desmond & The Tutus, Taxi and Friends, Janie and the Beard, Shotgun Tori, Akkedis, Nik Rabinowitz, Peter Mitchell and DJ Dirtroad.
Pull in on Thursday, 31st January for a preview gig at the Rolling Stone SA stage with ISO, The Swingsetters and more. You can choose the best spot for your tent and kick-start the weekend early before the rest of your friends arrive on Friday. Rock and Rolling!
On Friday afternoon Rolling Stone SA bring first-timers to Up The Creek: Desert blues from Namibia with gravel throated Crimson House Blues; new pop rock from Knysna’s young duo Dividable Grand; classic, pounding, old-style rock with the fast-rising Ballistic Blues; and of course the strange country punk jangling of Cape Town veterans Long Time Citizen, who have also incorporated the services of Willim Welsyn (of Die Sunrise Toffies), and apparently the staff of Rolling Stone themselves!
*Look out for our “Tribute To Women” Line up on Friday night. The 4thStreet Main Stage will be graced with the performances by an all female line up: Saarkie, Karen Zoid, Tailor, Machineri and BEAST.
Our popular MK river stage will be running on Saturday and Sunday during the day. Have fun in the sun in the water while listening to some cool tunes on the riverbanks.
Remember to bring your floating masterpieces for the Lilo Anything that Floats competition. If it floats and its cool, bring it to Up the Creek! Boats, lilos, inflatables, swirling zoos, colourful crates and balloon-driven-boudoirs – anything is welcome. Let your imagination go wild in creating the ultimate winning water feature.

As a dedicated Greenpopsponsor and Key Green Partners, Reliance Compost is onboard to assist with all the activations and creating awareness. TrashBackwill be getting the festival goers involved by creating incentives with prizes and treats to be won throughout the weekend.
