SWD hosted the CSA Academies Week for the 4th consecutive year in Oudtshoorn

SWD won their first CSA Three Day match when they defeated Western Province by an innings and 54 runs. Marcello Piedt, on debut was the hero with bowling figures of 10-5-6-7

The newly completed office and dressing room complex that includes the newly built dressing room facilities are officially opened by Councillor Jurie Harmse of the Oudtshoorn Municipality. The function was attended by delegates of Cricket South Africa and the Sports Trust.
November 2012
SWD, for the first time host the University B-week in Oudtshoorn and George. Kobus Scholtz (from NMMU, George) was awarded as Player and Batsman of the tournament and Lyndon Volkwyn (NMMU, George) as bowler of the Tournament.

SWD hosted the CSA Girls U/19 week, for the second time, with 16 participating teams in Oudtshoorn. The 15-year old, Miceala Andrews (from SWD) was selected for the South African Schools Girls team.

Jean Heunis (from SWD) was selected for the SA Colts team that was selected upon completion of the Coca Cola Khaya Majola week in Potchefstroom. Heunis and Arno Moolman were also selected for the Warriors Cubs team that participated in the CSA National Colts week in Stellenbosch in January 2013

Adrian McLaren (212*; 359 balls, 498 minutes, 9×6, 17×4)) broke a new SWD first class record for the highest innings as SWD defeated KwaZulu Natal by an innings and 1 run in Oudtshoorn. February 2013 SWD became the 12th full affiliate member of Cricket South Africa when the CSA Board of Directors unanimously approve the recommendation

Union Stars from Oudtshoorn won the Premier League for the 4th consecutive year when they defeated Harlequins Forces in the final whilst both finalist in the Promotion league final – NMMU and Mayflower – qualified for promotion to the Premier League in 2013/14. April 2013 Sussex won their first trophy since 1999/2000 when they won the SWDCB Twenty20 competition by defeating Union Stars by 4 runs in the final.

Marcello Piedt, who took 59 wickets in his debut season of first class cricket received the Standard Bank Trophy as Player of the Season at the SWD Annual Awards function that was held in Oudtshoorn.
MOMENTUM NASIONALE KLUBKAMPIOENSKAPPE
Die Premierliga kampioen van die SWD Krieketraad het teleurgestel en was segeloos na afloop van die Momentum Krieket Suid-Afrika nasionale klubkampioenskappe wat verlede week in Pretoria plaasvind.
Die manne van Oudtshoorn het die toernooi op ‘n teleurstellende noot begin nadat hul vir slegs 115 lopies teen die Universiteit Stellenbosch (Boland) uitgeboul is. Die Maties het sonder enige moeite die wenteiken 116/0 in die 26ste beurt verbygesteek vir ‘n oorwinning van 10 paaltjies.
In die wedstryd teen Western Province Cricket Club (WP) het Union Stars 191/9 lopies behaal met Waldo Lategan (54) en Brendon Louw (51) wat die mas kon opkom. WPKK, was met 5 paaltjies baas nadat hulle die wenteiken in die 44ste boulbeurt behaal het.
Teen Tukkies (209/9), wat uiteindelik as kampioen gekroon is, kon Union Stars slegs met 60 (almal uit) antwoord vir ‘n nederlaag van 149 lopies. In die wedstryd teen die KwaZulu Natalse klub, Crusaders, het Union Stars (114 almal uit) weer misluk waarna Crusaders (116/2) maklik met 8 paaltjies geseevier het.
In die laaste wedstryd teen Old Edwardians (Gauteng) met Niel McKenzie in hul geledere, wat 269/7 behaal het, het Union Stars se kolwers weer gefaal en is hul vir 139 lopies uitgeboul vir ‘n nederlaag van 130 lopies. Justin Jordaan (3/45) het met die bal uitgeblink.
