SWD TO HOST CSA GROUNDS MEN CONFERENCE
The Chief Executive Officer of SWD Cricket, Albertus Kennedy, recently confirmed that SWD will host the annual Cricket South Africa (CSA) national grounds men conference in Oudtshoorn.
This annual conference will be hosted in Oudtshoorn over the period 30 July – 1 August 2013 and will be attended by the grounds men of all the affiliate provinces of CSA. According to Mr Mike Gajjar, Operational Manager at CSA, various relevant topics will be discussed during the conference. The various grounds men will have an insight into next season’s fixtures as well as reports on the facilities for the past season. Matters such as the latest fertilizer products and irrigation systems on the market will also be discussed.
It will be the first time that SWD will host this conference.

SWD CRICKET BOARD APPOINTED TEAM MANAGER AND COACH FOR SENIOR WOMEN’S TEAM
The SWD Cricket Board recently appointed the team management for the SWD Women’s team for the 2013/14 season. The SWD Women’s team that participates in the CSA Women’s provincial competition will be coached by Eric Jacobs whilst Michelle Weyers was appointed as team manager.
Jacobs was also the coach in the 2010/11 season whilst Weyers, who very successfully managed the Oudtshoorn Women’s team and is currently the team manager of the SWD Eagles Women’s rugby team will for the first time take charge of the SWD Women’s team.
