Heavy rainfalls had the final say in all the club cricket fixtures of the past weekend since no ball was bowled as a result of wet pitches and outfield all around the province. It also placed a burden on the preparation of pitches. The mouth-watering fixture between the defending champions, Union Stars and NMMU therefore resulted in a no result match with each team receiving two match points.
Four premier league matches are scheduled for Saturday with Sussex hosting NMMU at D’Almeida, and Harlequins Forces to play at home (Military Sport Club). Union Stars will play George at Rooirivier-rift whilst Mayflower will be at home against Pirates United.
The preliminary round matches in the T20 competition will be concluded on Sunday.
