2014 heralds the 20 year anniversary of the Springbok Nude Girls and as Arno Carstens says “The year will be all about a special celebration of music for us as band members looking back at over two decades of songwriting, recording albums and touring; and all the beautiful memories it conjures up“. With that in mind it is with great pleasure to start off 2014 by accepting an invitation to play the prestigious Up the Creek festival. Up the Creek holds many memories for us and we are very excited to play there again after all these years.”

Up The Creek organisers, Annie and Anthony, get nostalgic about The Boss’s return to Africa: “The year was 1988. A very bleak time in our country. As outcasts in the international world, not only were economic sanctions applied but local South Africans were deprived of sporting opportunities and the opportunity to listen to international music acts. Some of us music lovers got to hear that Bruce Springsteen would be appearing in Harare for a concert later that year. That was all the impetus we needed to get our butts to Zimbabwe as fast as we could. Hiring a 10-seater plane we flew from Joburg, landing in Harare. It was my first time in this beautiful country and I distinctly remember making our way from the airport to the stadium driving down a gorgeous jacaranda lined avenue with the sun, a huge orange ball, setting in the sky.
