After a very disappointing trip to Bloemfontein where they were comprehensively beaten by Free State, SWD will face Eastern at home at the Recreation Ground this weekend.
For SWD, who will have the first opportunity to play in front of their home crowd this weekend will be a crucial fixture to get their campaign back on track.
A good start and good momentum is not negotiable against the East Rand based team.
SWD’s downfall is a good first innings score and the batting unit will need to show their true potential.
The selectors made one change to the three day team where Glenton Stuurman, a local product that progressed through the SWD Academy will have his first taste of first class cricket. He will replace Gareth Dukes.
The SWD-team for the weekend is: Ross McMillan (capt), Luthando Mnyanda, Adrian McLaren, Waldo Lategan, Glen Addicot, Brendon Louw, Sammy-Joe Avontuur, Glenton Stuurman, Marcello Piedt, Lonwabo Rodolo and Gurshwin Rabie. Pieter Stuurman, Kobus Scholtz, Gareth Dukes and Lyndon Volkwyn will be added to the one day squad.
