Africa’s premium comedy brand makes its European debut in Montreux, Switzerland
In an exciting development, STAND UP AFRICA, the premium comedy show that brings together Africa’s finest comedians will be showcased at mainland Europe’s biggest comedy festival in Montreux, Switzerland from the 5th to the 9th of December.
STAND UP AFRICA will make for an intriguing addition to the Montreux Comedy Festival with an all star line up that includes African comedy giants Loyiso Gola, Kagiso Lediga, Stuart Taylor, Daliso Chaponda & Joseph Opio.
In an inspired move which has “history in the making” written all over it, the Montreux Comedy Festival production team commissioned comedy promoters Podium…The Comedy Merchants from South Africa, to produce STAND UP AFRICA for their festival.

2013 is turning out to be a big year, particularly for Loyiso Gola, who is without doubt one of the finest comedians performing in Africa today. He has been making waves on the international comedy circuit with great performances at both the Montreal & Edinburgh Comedy Festivals this year. Most recently, his tv show that he co-produces with director Kagiso Lediga – Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola received an International Emmy Award Nomination!
