THE Cricket South Africa (CSA) under-13 week in Bloemfontein switched to the T20 format on Sunday with all the affiliates playing two matches each.
The game of the day was undoubtedly that between KZN Coastal and Northerns which the latter won off the last ball of the day with seven wickets in hand. Simon Holmes hit an unbeaten century (102) to set up the KZN total of 162/3 but Northerns proved more than equal to the chase thanks to the contributions of Tiaan Kruger (70) and Heinrich Bischoff (67). They also only lost three wickets.
Caleb Pillay hit an unbeaten 92 for second top score of the day in KZN’s other match in which they beat Mpumulanga comfortably while Jannes Schlebusch produced the all-round performance of the day when he took 5/15 and then made 49 not out, also against Mpumulanga.
