CT Tango Ensemble are Stanislav Angelov (Bandoneón, Accordion & Vibrandoneon), Petrus de Beer (Violin), Albert Combrink (Piano) & Charles Lazar (Double Bass). The album features several guest artists who will join them on this spectacular evening including Melanie Scholtz (Vocals), Juan Simon (Vocals), Dan Shout (Saxophone), Peter Narun (Guitar) & Kevin Gibson (Drums).

Besides all the great musicians and two singers on stage, the Tango Maestro & Tango Instructor Emiliano Fernandez from Buenos Aires, will also make a special guest appearance. Stanislav Angelov says: “This is going to be an evening when you will experience the Tango culture in full bloom right here in the Mother City.  Tango started in Latin America as a result of many different cultures (including African) meeting in Buenos Aires and exploring together their passion for music and dance. Today we can see people from all over the world playing, listening & dancing to take part in this beautiful culture. So, now Tango belongs to the World and it is here to stay!”

The evening will end with a Milonga (Social Tango) which will take place in the foyer of Artscape Theater after the show.  All Tango dancers from the Cape Town Tango community or visiting dancers are welcome to join on the dance floor to continue the celebration of the new CT Tango Ensemble Album.

More about “Tango Dreams”:

Following their success of their previous CDs “El Tango en Africa” (2003) & “Tango Club” (2010, nominated for Best Instrumental Album in 2011 SAMA) they continue to indulge the audience with their passion and understanding of the Tango genre. This album like their previous two is a selection of music, which is not only dedicated to the Tango fanatics. This is a CD for people who love Music.

The album consists of a fair amount of music by Astor Piazzolla, some old or so-called Traditional Tangos, Tango-Valse & Milonga as well as original music by Charles Lazar & Stanislav Angelov. There is also a familiar jazz influence on this album, like with CT Tango Ensemble`s previous albums.
