MyEdit introduces news feeds for holiday hotspots

MyEdit icon_cmykThe MyEdit content aggregation app will be breaking new ground by running special news feeds for 18 of South Africa’s hottest holiday destinations in December and January.

These purpose-built feeds give users access to daily news and events, surf and weather reports, as well as articles on restaurants, bars and other places of interest for each of the featured destinations.

According to project manager Robert Kaden, the free-to-download app provided the ideal platform for such a holiday initiative.

“People are away from their computers at this time of the year and are more inclined to consume news and information via mobile platforms like smartphones and tablets.

“Now we can bring them news and photos tailor-made for their destination, as well as extras such as holiday recipes and other helpful tips.”

Kaden said a dedicated team of freelancers were responsible for updating these feeds on a daily basis.

“They have their fingers on the pulse and are researching each destination thoroughly to make sure MyEdit users stay up-to-date this holiday.”

In addition to the destination-specific feeds, MyEdit also allows users to access content from more than 40 of South Africa’s top publications and blogs.

The holiday feeds will run until January 14.

The targeted destinations and resorts are: Ballito Bay, Cape Town’s beaches, Durban, Jeffreys Bay, Knysna, Margate, Plettenberg Bay, Port Elizabeth, Still Bay (with a dedicated feed for the annual touch rugby tournament), ATKV Buffelspoort, ATKV Drakensville, ATKV Eiland Spa, ATKV Goudini Spa, ATKV Hartenbos, ATKV Klein-Kariba and ATKV Natalia.
