While the rest of the European Tour champions in this year’s Volvo Golf Champions were out on the course getting the rust off ahead of the $4-million season-opener, 2010 Open champion Louis Oosthuizen prepared for his title defence by having a play-date with former Springbok skipper John Smit and the Volvo Compact Excavator in the sandpit at the public village at Durban Country Club.
Not to be outdone, former Protea captain Shaun Pollock found his own Volvo to play with. Both SA sports legends will be lining up in today’s pro-am ahead of the main event, which kicks off from 9-12 January.
