The Wilderness Foundation works in many countries from its base in Port Elizabeth, South Africa to protect wildlife and wilderness in partnership with local communities. Whether it is direct action anti-poaching in the field, large landscape wilderness management, or developing rising young leaders from disadvantaged communities for a career in conservation, the Wilderness Foundation has over 40 years of results.

On Earth Day 2014, the staff of the Wilderness Foundation will be seen at the various intersections in Port Elizabeth, handing out licence disc stickers to promote the Wildlife Crime Tip-off Line.

The rhino poaching crisis (as well as other wildlife crime) is of national and international significance and affects all levels of society. Wildlife crime is the fifth most profitable illicit trade in the world, estimated at up to $10 billion annually. The Wilderness Foundation recognizes this and is working in partnership with various organisations to address this issue. The Wilderness Foundation recently hosted two Vietnamese popstars, Thu Minh and Thanh Bui as part of their Demand Reduction Strategy, and on 22 April 2014, will be promoting the Wildlife Crime Tip-off Line, which has been established as part of the Forever Wild programme, in partnership with the Wildlife Operations Group. The purpose of the campaign will be to promote the tip-off line, thereby encouraging the public to report wildlife crime. The tip-off line number is 078 696 9494.
