SWD Cricket appoints Elite Performance Coach for Black African Development Programme

The SWD Cricket Board recently confirmed the appointment of Siyabulela Nkosana for the post of Elite Coach for the Black African Cricket Development program with effect from 1 May 2014.

He will be responsible for the coaching, coordination and growthof the identified Black African cricketers in the region/club/schools of responsibility.  According to the SWD Cricket CEO, Albertus Kennedy, his focus will be on the skills development of the elite Black African cricket players in the province and will work closely with the High Performance coach, Andre du Plessis in ensuring that players are properly prepared to represent their province at National Cricket Weeks of Cricket South Africa.  He will also be responsible to manage the coach education program in the area.  His appointment and presence will also complement the existing development program in Bongolethu, Thembalethu and Kwanonqaba.

Nkosana who matriculated at Grey High School in Port Elizabeth was previously employed in the coaching structures of Kei Cricket.  He is procession of a CSA Level II coaching certificate which he obtained in 2008 and is busy with his Level III certificate.  He represented Eastern Province Cricket u/13, u/15 and u/17 level and was a member of the EP Cricket Academy in 2004.
