Eden’s 2014/2015 Workplace Skills Plan signed off

After many consultations sessions with various roleplayers such as internal Departments, both Unions Imatu and Samwu, Eden District Municipality finally signed off their Workplace Skills Plan for the 2014/2015 financial year.

Eden is registered with the Local Government Seta (LGSeta) and pays a monthly levy to the SETA for skills development and training for its staff. In terms of the Skills Development Act, Eden submitted a Workplace Skills Plan stating the priorities with regard to training and development of their staff within the organisation. Comprehensive consultation sessions followed with the various internal Departments, including the staff, and certain relevant Sections such as Integrated Development Planning, Finance etc. that formed part of the entire process, which was driven by the Human Resources Section.
