The SWD Cricket Coaching Department is currently running two coaching courses for new Level 1 Cricket Coaches. The SWD Cricket Academy Squad is finishing their course at the moment with coaching practical’s being completed as they help coach the SWD regional squads alongside the age group coaches gaining experience at the same time. The turnout for the George Level 1 has been brilliant and with the support of ETA and Henrico Louw as well as that of Glenwoodhouse and their coaches Douglas Wagner and Danie Oosthuizen, the course is running ahead on full steam.
The SWD Cricket Coaching Department is on a drive to help all school, club and private coaches to be properly accredited and to stay up to date with new coaching methods and ideas because it is vitally important that a young cricketer is taught the correct basics and that their bio-mechanics are in place from a young age so that they have the best opportunity to reach their full potential as a cricketer in years to come.

ORIENTATION CRICKET COACHING COURSE – THEMBALETHU
Dear Headmasters, Club Chairmans & Coaches
The SWD Coaching Department will be running an Orientation Coaching Course for all cricket coaches who wish to further their coaching development in Thembalethu.
Course details
- Coaches must attend BOTH sessions
- Teachers, coaches and players over the age of 17 may attend the course
- Venue: TBC
- All coaches will receive a certificate of attendance
- Wednesday 28 May – 17:00-20:00 & Friday 17:00-20:00
