Eden Fire Station received new first order response vehicle

On 10 June 2014, the Eden District Fire and Rescue Services took into receipt a new Land Cruiser 4×4 Bakkie which will be utilized as a first order response vehicle from the Fire station in George in response to incidents reported across the region.  

During the handing over of the new vehicle, fltr: Gerhard Otto, Eden DM Manager: Emergency Services, Clive Lawrence, Representative from Protea Toyota, Godfrey Louw, Eden DM Municipal Manager, Deon Van Wyk, Acting Chief Fire Officer and Wayne Young, George Station Officer.
During the handing over of the new vehicle, fltr: Gerhard Otto, Eden DM Manager: Emergency Services, Clive Lawrence, Representative from Protea Toyota, Godfrey Louw, Eden DM Municipal Manager, Deon Van Wyk, Acting Chief Fire Officer and Wayne Young, George Station Officer.



As a district municipal Fire and Rescue Service, the Eden DM Fire Department does not only provide firefighting services during forest fires, but are also responsible for taking action during hazardous materials incidents in the region. 

This vehicle will be equipped to offer the basic services needed during incident until the larger, better-equipped trucks join the incident scene.
