Van Loveren, the family owned wine producer behind the popular Four Cousins brand, is entering the ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages market with its latest innovation – the new fruity, wine-based Four Cousins FIVER range. At its heart, the new range contains the much-loved Four Cousins wine, South Africa’s biggest selling bottled wine brand.
Four Cousins FIVER, a crisp and refreshing drink for all young-at-hearts, is available in five fabulous flavours: Black (zesty with a ginger zing), Bold (pomegranate), Blush (strawberry & litchi), Cool (apple, lime & cucumber) and Crush (apple & pear). Each contains 5% alcohol by volume.
FIVER is an extension of the famed Four Cousins collection which includes wines, sparkling wines and cream liqueurs. And yes, there are indeed four cousins at the helm of Van Loveren. “The first bottled Van Loveren wine was made by Nico and Wynand Retief in 1980. They laid the foundation for the enterprise,” says Van Loveren CEO Phillip Retief. “From the mid 1990’s my brother, cousins and I joined the farm after completing our studies and launched the Four Cousins range in 2000. Its quality and value have won favour with our consumers and we expect and hope that Four Cousins FIVER will receive the same welcome.”
Van Loveren Family Vineyards outside Robertson is South Africa’s largest family owned winery. A diversity of interests both in tourism and wine has made it renowned for innovation. It is from this approach that Four Cousins FIVER flows.
According to Retief, the Van Loveren vision encourages meaningful diversification and this new addition to the Four Cousins brand makes complete business sense. RTD’s represent one of the fastest growing categories in the liquor market. The arrival of Four Cousins FIVER is a seamless reflection of the strong family values and proud tradition that define the Retief family’s pioneering approach to its business.
Each Four Cousins FIVER is available in a 340ml bottle. Make sure to taste them all, determine your absolute favourite and share on Twitter @4CousinsWine and Facebook.
