Shadward Fillies scored two tries in quick succession that allowed South Western Districts to distance themselves on the scoreboard in a tight game against Western Province. Western Province scored a try in the 49th minute to take the scores to 19-16 and neither side looked like they were going to dominate the game. In the restart of the game the Western Province forwards charged the SWD forwards but did not manage to control the ball. Christopher Roelofse picked up the loose ball put Shadwick through a gap, he ran through the rest of the defence and scored in the 50th minute.
His second try also came of a kick off where SWD tried to kick for territory but did not kick the ball out, Western Province went on the attack and a loose pass was picked up by Shadward and he scored in the 53rd minute. No matter how hard Western Province tried after that they could not bridge the gap.
