The Sedgars Twenty20 league competition of SWD Cricket will kick-off this weekend. The first series of preliminary round matches will be contested on Saturday and Sunday.
According to the formal all affiliated clubs (both premier league and promotion league clubs) are divided into four pools with clubs playing a round-robin series of matches within each pool. The top two teams in each pool qualify for the quarter finals which are scheduled for 7 December 2014. The semi-finals and final will be played at the Recreation Ground on 10 January 2015. Union Stars are the defending champions in this competition.
The respective pools are: Pool A: NMMU, Sussex, Riversdale, Melkhoutfontein, Heidelberg, Albertinia and Slangrivier. Pool B: Union Stars, Blanco, Western Hope, Bongolethu, Selbourne, Dysselsdorp and Calitzdorp. Pool C: Harlequins, Pacaltsdorp United, Thembalethu, Mayflower, Ramblers, Ladismith and Wilderness Pool D: Mossel Bay, George, Pirates United, Knysna Cavaliers, Pioneers, Kranshoek Cobra’s and Kwanonqaba
